Inission Newsletter July 2025

Inission’s state-of-the-art factory in Borås inaugurated and opened for full production!

After just over a year of planning and hard work, it was with immense joy that the Borås City Director Svante Stomberg, cut the ribbon and declared Inission’s state-of-the-art factory opened on the 26th of June!

“This is a fantastic day not only for Inission, but also for the whole Swedish electronic manufacturing industry. We are not only celebrating a new factory – but also 40 years of electronics production with roots in Swedish industry and an eye on the future,” says Carl Lidén, CEO Inission Syd AB.

50 % larger production area
The guests were treated to a tour of the new factory, mingling and various surprises. The new factory now offers 50 % larger production area, climate-controlled and climate-smart technology, and of course leading competence in EMS. The guests could also experience the new and fantastic work environment where the employees have been deeply involved in the design process. The combination of leading Lean thinking and the bright, quiet, and airy premises will guarantee the best possible working environment.

A Swedish flagship for electronics manufacturing
Together with Part Development, one of Sweden’s leading consultants in Lean and business development, and internal project groups, the premises have been designed into a highly efficient facility for optimal and sustainable manufacturing of electronics and also a centre for training and improvement activities for the group’s own employees as well as for customers and partners.

Already in full production.
The factory in Borås is now in full production and will continue to offer circuit board manufacturing and complete box build in the new premises, supplemented by comprehensive solutions for logistics and distribution.

“We have a very high level of expertise in box build and we will now be able to manage even larger volumes in an efficient manner. We also have unique expertise in optical equipment, where we together with our customers, with Swedish technology, our know-how and efficiency, manufacture world-leading products,” continues Carl Lidén, CEO Inission Syd AB.

Many benefits of the strategic location in western Sweden
– With the new factory, we can continue to benefit from the strong industrial tradition and innovative power that characterizes the area from the Malmö and Copenhagen regions in the south, via Borås and Gothenburg, to Norway in the north. The infrastructure is also favourable, which simplifies the cooperation with our Norwegian unit. In this way, we can optimize the flow of products within and outside the EU and create tailored solutions for delivery directly to end customers, concludes Carl Lidén.

Inission acquires the Lithuanian EMS company Selteka

Inission AB has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of UAB Selteka. Selteka is a well-respected EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) company with operations located in Kaunas, Lithuania. Through the acquisition, Inission expands its geographical presence in the Baltics and thereby strengthens its position in Northern Europe.

The agreement was signed on June 30, 2025 and the takeover is on July 1, 2025. According to the agreement, the price for 100% of the shares in Selteka amounts to EUR 8 million. The payment for the shares upon takeover is financed with a bank loan of EUR 4 million, EUR 2 million in cash and payment with own newly issued shares corresponding to EUR 2 million.

About Selteka
Selteka is a privately owned EMS company in Kaunas, Lithuania, with approximately 280 employees. The company was founded in 1956 and offers services within electronics production, testing and assembly. The turnover for 2024 was approximately EUR 16 million. Selteka’s customers are mainly in industrial electronics, telecom and energy – both in the Baltics and the rest of Europe. Read more at www.en.selteka.eu.

Strategic Rationale
The acquisition of Selteka is part of Inission’s long-term growth plan and strengthens its presence in Northern Europe. Each acquisition adds new expertise and strengthens the joint offering. Selteka’s local presence, modern production and experienced staff complement Inission’s existing structure. The company also has a loyal customer base in areas with continued high demand. As part of Inission, Selteka gains access to a larger network, more resources and the opportunity to grow further under a common brand, with local presence.

Comment from Inission CEO Fredrik Berghel:
“With Selteka, we gain a strong foothold in the Baltics and open doors to new markets. It is an important piece of the puzzle in our international expansion and a step toward becoming an even more complete EMS partner. Selteka has a long history, strong expertise, and a solid reputation in the industry. Their experience and resources enhance our joint offering and create new opportunities for growth and development, both locally and across the entire Inission Group.”

Comment from Selteka CEO Arūnas Vizgaitis:
“Our industry is in a period of rapid change, and the ensuing workforce and skills demands are challenging to keep pace with. As part of the Inission family, I’m delighted to have found a partner to help us benefit from economies of scale and business resilience to meet the evolving needs of our customers. I am staying in the company as CEO, and I’m looking forward to updating our customers and employees on our additional capabilities as we work more closely across the Inission group.”

Four good reasons for nearshoring

The demand for nearshoring is increasing rapidly as more companies choose to move their production away from distant low-wage countries closer to their own markets. And there are many good reasons for this, especially when the demands and requirements on sustainable production and ESG increase at a rapid pace. Along with reduced environmental impact and lower transport costs, also comes the advantage of being close to your manufacturing partner, especially when manufacturing complex products.

Global geopolitical and economic uncertainty
There are also several other important and relevant reasons for choosing nearshoring. Higher safety and security regarding the geopolitical situation, and a possibility to reduce the risks connected to the global uncertainty surrounding customs and tariffs are important benefits of nearshoring. Here are four good reasons why many of Inissions customers have chosen nearshoring:

1. Minimize risks with customs and tariffs and lower transportation costs.
Nearshoring reduces the risks that come with global uncertainty around customs and tariffs, it also improves the whole supply chain reliability and reduce costs associated to disruptions. Higher and better predictability and control over the entire value chain also reduces unnecessary costs. Another direct benefit is of course the reduced transport costs that automatically come with shorter transports.

2. Higher safety regarding the geopolitical situation.
We now live in an extraordinarily complex and uncertain world with many geopolitical challenges that are difficult or completely impossible to influence. Conflicts, trade wars and embargoes have become part of our everyday lives. However, manufacturing closer to your own markets is an important measure that quickly yields results in the form of increased control over the entire value chain, higher delivery reliability and shorter time to market.

3. Better environmental and sustainable solutions.
Modern companies are placing increasing demands on sustainability, circular manufacturing, and control of component parts. Driving factors are a mix of legislation, end-customer requirements and, for example, the EU’s Digital Product Passport (DPP). Nearshoring through Inission provides total control over the environmental impact of the entire value chain, from component parts and chemicals to resource-efficient manufacturing and efficient transport. Inission’s experts also offer advanced and leading services in analysis and inspection of conflict minerals, RoHS, and the REACH Directive.

4. Geographical proximity improves continuous improvement and long-term relationships.
Geographical proximity allows for more frequent and easier face-to-face interactions and is a key success factor for long-term, profitable, and successful partnerships. Proximity also creates completely different opportunities for continuous improvement and development of both products and manufacturing processes, better monitoring of quality and faster feedback. Neither time differences, language barriers or cultural differences stand in the way and Inission’s customers always know who is responsible for the various parts and who to contact. So, if you wish to visit some of Inissions factories, please don´t hesitate to contact us!
